Welcome to the Association of Newfoundland Land Surveyors (1953) and our new, user friendly website. Please take a few moments to browse and familiarize yourself with our Professional Association, our Professional Land Surveyors and all it has to offer.
Our main focus is to regulate the practice of Land Surveying services in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, for best interest of the General Public and the Administration of our Profession. This is done through our Act (LSA, 1991) along with our By-Laws and Regulations.
As part of our mandate, we are pleased to have appointed two (2) members of the General Public, Mr. Donald Rowe and Mr. Wayne Follett. As professionals they bring valuable opinions to the Council table, and partake in many discussions.
These are exciting times for our Association; for the first time in years we have fourteen (14) Articling Students anxious to become a Professional Land Surveyor. I am convinced these students, once commissioned, will “carry forward” the projected future needs of Land Surveying in this Province. The technology field we operate under in Land Surveying is constantly changing and we need “this new blood” within our Association to ensure we are well positioned for future demands on our Profession.
In closing may I add that our Province is experiencing for the first time, significant growth, and “times were never better”. As Professional Land Surveyors, we have to “grab hold” of this opportunity and ensure the public’s confidence in us and our Association. Recognition comes from hard work and dedication to your Profession.
